More Functions, Same Footprint

The TCAS 3000 is the world’s only third generation TCAS II. While competing TCAS suppliers are still developing their second generation TCAS II, the TCAS 3000 is designed from the field-proven TCAS 2000 with over 7,000 delivered since its introduction in 1997, making ACSS’s total TCAS II deliveries more than 9,000.

The TCAS 3000 provides pilots with the highest bearing determination accuracy (2° rms vs. 9° TSO specification) and extended range surveillance (up to 80 nm active, 100+ nm passive) available. Enhanced Air Traffic Control Radar Beacon System (ATCRBS) range, altitude and bearing-tracker algorithms developed by ACSS to provide greater than 99% track probabilities, while reducing false tracks to less than 0.5% (60% better than allowed by the FAA Advisory Circular No. 20-131B).

The TCAS 3000 is completely backward compatible with the TCAS 2000. The TCAS 3000 provides appreciable operating cost savings through its reduced weight and power dissipation. Other features include an internal data recorder with external PC-based data analysis tool and the ability to perform on-board software upgrades.

The TCAS 3000 is hosted on ACSS’s Surveillance Processor.

The Surveillance Processor delivers additional enhancements in reliability and computing power to handle the most demanding applications, including the eventual implementation of Change 8 and Airborne Separation Assurance System (ASAS) upgrades. Software-only upgrades allow for ADS-B functions such as Surface Area Movement Management (SAMM), Merging & Spacing, and Cockpit Display of Traffic Information (CDTI) Flight Equipment Rules (CFER).
