ACSS’s new communications management system is designed to meet the growing data communications requirements of today’s aircraft operations and associated ground networks. Meeting operators’ diverse needs, Dlink+ is a versatile communication system that is much simpler to install than other systems.
Lightweight and low cost… Dlink+ is a complete communication
management system integrated into a small panel-mount
CDU. This system provides extensive digital and analog
I/O, an ACARS processor, internal VDL-Mode 2 radio, and
optional GPS sensor. The ARINC 429 I/O allows the CMU
access to aircraft information such as engine data, air data, fuel
information, and many other aircraft parameters.
Dlink+ also provides a growth path with a choice of
bi-directional communication media such as SATCOM,
and airborne telephone. It interfaces to peripherals such
as ARINC 744 printers and data loaders. System software
supports ACARS over AVLC, with growth provisions for
Controller-Pilot Data Link Communication/Aeronautical
Telecommunications Network. The internal dedicated radio
avoids many of the integration problems that are common
when using an external radio. An optional internal GPS sensor
provides dedicated, precise position and time reporting for the
communication management system.
The Dlink+ has a highly modular design, with separate high-speed single board computers (SBC) dedicated to each of its major functions. The ACARS SBC is the heart of the system and provides the communication protocol and routing functions. Supported by a high-speed dedicated I/O SBC, Dlink+ interfaces with a wide variety of aircraft systems. The VDL-Mode 2 radio is an additional SBC based on the latest digital signal processing technology. This modular approach provides the ultimate in versatility, performance and growth for a complete communication system.
